Introducing RambleGood

Introducing RambleGood

Adina here, RambleGood's founder, I'd like to tell you the story of RambleGood. Where we came from, who we are, and where we're going.

Let's get started.

The Origin Story

Back in the summer of 2013, I was on a two week camping road trip through the Canadian Rockies with a deadline looming at the end of the trip. Two months earlier, I had challenged myself to set a date to decide what was next. I scribbled notes and jotted down product ideas.

make small, purposeful, handmade travel items

investigate printing on fabric costs and/or printer costs

help people and non-profits

raise awareness

luggage tags - an island series where a percent of the profit would go to a nonprofit working on issues of sea level rise

open a handmade shop

From all that scribbling, a pathway emerged and I carefully headed down it. Until that moment when I scribbled the last note - I never thought of myself of as the type of person who would start their own small business. Today, I can't imagine doing anything else.

With almost two years of designing, testing, and a whole heck of a lot of learning under my belt - I'm finally ready to launch our first collection of limited edition handmade travel products.

RambleGood

Now that you have a bit of the back story, let me officially introduce you to RambleGood - we sell handmade travel goods with a cause, do our best to inform you about the world we live in, and support non-profit causes doing good work around the globe.

Our travel goods will be released in small batch, limited edition collections, each designed around a theme to support and raise awareness for a particular non-profit organization. The fabric for each collection is custom designed in-house from my original watercolor paintings.

Behind the scenes at our Seattle office, you'll find myself as well as my husband Zeke, working on everything from product design to shipping to shooting photos for this website. We've steered away from "hiring-it-out" until we can afford to bring on our own staff so we can connect directly with you through all aspects of RambleGood.

The Future

Next month we'll launch our first small batch limited edition collection. Our Launch Collection is our way of getting out of the gate sooner rather than later. You see, we've funded this launch without loans or credit - simply by stretching our own budget. So while this collection will offer only one color option and very limited stock, our future collections will offer several with different prints of fabric on all a larger set of products.

This brings us to our exciting plans for the summer - beginning a crowd-funding campaign to support the launch of the first two full collections! As I mentioned, we've funded this launch so far by stretching our own budget. That being said, we're also still using a 10-year-old printer and renting time on a serger at a local sewing studio. In order to bring RambleGood to the next level, we're going to need your help. We have all sorts of unique goodies planned for this campaign, so make sure to sign up for our mailing list to get the latest news.

While we have grand plans for RambleGood's future beyond the summer - we're open to sailing wherever the wind takes us with this new adventure and that's where you come in!

We want to hear from you...
