Finding My Neverland: Tofino, British Columbia

Tofino, as it turns out, was the place I’d been dreaming of in my head and referring to as "Neverland". From the most amazing golden hours I’ve ever experienced to trees which look like they hold mysterious secrets (like a long ago crashed bomber), this place is my Neverland turned real. The possibilities for exploration are endless and I can’t wait to return for more adventures.

Stay: Ocean Village Resort in Tofino, British Columbia

When I began talking about taking a trip to Tofino for my 30th birthday, the one question I always got was how I had heard of it and to be honest I couldn't remember. It felt like one of those places I've always known about. However, after thinking about it more I recalled a resort, found in my wanderings around the web maybe six years ago, called Ocean Village.

Camp Here: Kicking Horse in Yoho National Park, British Columbia, Canada

From the parking lot it's just a 3 kilometer round trip hike to the falls - it's so easy I would even call it more of a walk. The trail meanders along the banks of the Green River and in some sections the drop off is rather steep, so take care with shaky walkers, small children, and dogs.

Scenes from Canada: Yoho National Park

Of the three new-to-me Canadian National Parks we explored on our summer camping road trip through the Rockies - Yoho completely stole my heart. From waking up to the view of glacier at our campsite, to walking around Emerald Lake, to conquering three hikes in just one day - I'm a total fan. There are just loads of great day hikes and spots to explore in this relatively compact park.

Trip Video: Canadian Rockies

I'm back from my blogging break and what better way to come back than with a bang! Specifically the bang of a brand new, albeit overdue, trip video. Making this video was my favorite editing experience to date - with so much footage to work with, I got to really whittle the clips down to the cream of the crop.
